Prison meals

Cafeteria

The renovated Kangoku Cafeteria opened on February 1, 2017.
A vending machine was set up that makes it convenient for international visitors to purchase meal tickets. There are 85 seats. Light streaming from the vaulted ceiling helps to create a pleasant space. A wooden deck was added to the cafeteria.

Tea room in the Administration Building of the original Abashiri Prison

This tea room is in the Administration Building of the original Abashiri Prison, a nationally important cultural property. The tea room is adjacent to a library.

Museum shop

Abashiri Prison Museum runs a shop in the Administration Building of the original Abashiri Prison, a nationally important cultural property. The museum shop sells guidebooks, publications of the museum and items produced by prison inmates.
